Pictorial Analogies XI: Concentrations and Acidity of Solutions.
Fortman, John J.
Journal of Chemical Education, v71 n5 p430-32 May 1994
Presents pictorial analogies of several concepts relating to solutions for chemistry students. These include concentration of solution, strength of solution, supersaturated solution, and conjugate acid-base pairs. Among the examples are comparison of acid strength to percentage of strong soldiers or making supersaturated solution analogous to a theater audience that doesn't notice a shortage of seats until everyone tries to find one.
