Aerospace-Oriented Units for Use in Secondary School Classes.

This set of nine units is intended to furnish aerospace-oriented resource material to help teachers include recent scientific and technological advances in the secondary school science curriculum. The units provided are as follows: history of astronomy, the solar system, beyond the solar system, history of flight, spaceflight facts, aerology, navigation and communication unmanned space exploration, and manned space flight. Each unit is subdivided into parts and includes the following suggestions: objectives, basic and supplementary reading assignments, suggested films, filmstrips and other teaching aids, background information, activities and projects, and a guide for evaluating learning in terms of the stated objectives. Basic reading assignments are made to a specific set of reference books. Supplementary references are collected into a classified bibliography of resource materials, which also includes films, filmstrips, transparencies, Ditto masters, and miscellaneous teaching aids.
