This instructional unit is one of 10 developed by students on various energy-related areas that deals specifically with agricultural energy practices. Its objective is for the student to be able to discuss energy use and conservation of resources in the production of agricultural products. Some topics covered are basic uses of direct energy in agriculture production, factors concerning energy efficiency in agriculture production, benefits that energy subsidies to agriculture production make possible to the national economy, and reasons for the substantial increase in production yields in United States agriculture.
