This article discusses the distinguishing traits and features of college humanities majors in post-Soviet Russia. It, presents the social-pedagogical surveys that the author conducted in various institutions of higher learning in St. Petersburg, using a variety of sociological methods: from mass and group surveys to interviews, the keeping of journals, thought experiments, and brainstorming. Among other things, the author clarifies the differences between the "intelligent" and "intellectual" among post-Soviet college students.
