The article will outline a framework for the use of social networking tools in K-12 education framed around four thought provoking questions: 1) what are the benefits and pitfalls of using social networking tools in P-12 education, 2) how do we plan effectively for the use of social networking tool, 3) what role does professional development play in navigating this challenging issue, and 40 what role does educator preparation play in developing tech savvy educational teacher leaders? Insights, concerns, and alternative perspectives on the topic will be covered outlining a plan to target appropriate use.
