Research & Teaching in Developmental Education, v29 n2 p38-39 Spr 2013
Educators' reliance on the Internet to research and answer any question, gives rise to a new challenge for students. Like its counterpart at other colleges and universities, Career Services at Burlington County College leads students through a workshop where they analyze their social media presence. The tips and hints help students develop the meta-analysis necessary to succeed in the professional world. By using their own social media accounts to consider the do's and don'ts of the online professional world, students can readily apply the knowledge and skills they learn during the workshop. Unflattering pictures and questionable posts disappear, or at least disappear from the public eye, and are replaced with professional networks, polished prose, and tasteful images.
