Examines the effect of a central cultural value, individualism-collectivism, on social loafing in an organizational setting. In the study, 48 managerial trainees from the United States and China worked under varying conditions of accountability and shared responsibility. Collectivistic beliefs influenced the incidence of social loafing. Includes 51 references. (MLH)
