African American Male Leaders in Counseling: Interviews with Five AMCD Past Presidents

Interviews with 5 African American male past presidents of the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development provided insights into minority leadership. Among observed themes, a communal worldview permeated actions, historical events affected development, personal traits and external resources promoted resilience, and skin color affected awareness of an unjust world and advocacy needs.
