This instructor's guide for a sheep production unit contains six lessons that are designed to be taught in the Agricultural Science I core curriculum. Introductory materials include lists of performance objectives and competencies for the complete unit, suggestions for motivational technique/interest approach and evaluation, lists of references and materials for the unit, and a competency profile. Contents of each lesson include the objective, study questions, reference list, teaching procedures (with a content outline and answers to evaluation), and the evaluation instrument. Some lessons also contain transparency masters, handouts, and/or worksheets. Lesson topics are: the sheep industry; sheep selection; managing the breeding flock; managing the flock from lambing to weaning; managing a flock from weaning to market; and diseases, parasites, and predators. A glossary of sheep terms is provided at the end of the guide. (YLB)
