Moderating Effect of Gender on the Relationship between Sensation Seeking-Impulsivity and Substance Use in Adolescents.
Baker, Joseph R.; Yardley, John K.
Journal of Child and Adolescent Substance Abuse, v12 n1 p27-43 2002
Examines the moderating effect of gender on the predictive relationships between a measure of sensation seeking and impulsivity and four adolescent substance use outcomes. Main-effect relationships were consistently found for sensation seeking-impulsivity with each outcome, but not for gender. Gender was found to moderate the relationship between sensation seeking-impulsivity and alcohol use. (Contains 42 references, 3 tables, and 2 figures.) (GCP)
