The purpose of this study was to examine educators' perceptions regarding the effects of school uniforms on school climate in a selected metropolitan disciplinary alternative education program. More specifically, this study investigated the influence of the variables group status, gender, ethnicity, age and years of experience on the perceptions of educators towards the effects of school uniforms on school climate. A descriptive survey research design was used to gather and treat the data. One hundred and fifty (150) educators involved in disciplinary alternative education programs housed in three school districts in the southern region of Texas participated in the study. The Effects of School Uniforms on School Climate Survey was used to collect the data. The investigative survey was found to have excellent content validity as well as an internal consistency reliability (split-half) coefficient of 0.85 for the test as a whole. Among the conclusions of this study were: 1. Educators overwhelmingly agreed that school uniforms had significant positive effect on school climate in a disciplinary alternative education program. 2. In general, school group status had no influence on the perceptions of educators regarding the effects of school uniforms on school climate in a disciplinary alternative education program. 3. The older the educators were, the more favorable their perceptions regarding the effects of school uniforms on school climate in a disciplinary alternative education program. 4. Data suggest that the higher the number of years of educators' working experience, the more favorable their perceptions regarding the effects of school uniforms on school climate in a disciplinary alternative education program. 5. Educators' ethnicity had no influence on their perceptions regarding the effects of school uniforms on school climate in a disciplinary alternative education program.
