Liu, Qinghua
Chinese Education and Society, v46 n1 p41-50 Jan-Feb 2013
The new entrance exam reform programs that have been presented in a number of provinces and regions adhere to the direction of new curriculum reform. Within these programs, comprehensive evaluation serves as the weather vane for quality education. The high school academic proficiency test serves as a firmly fixed benchmark for learning ability, while students' burden serves as a barometer for their own physical and mental health. Reducing students' burden is a time- and labor-intensive task. The most important task of education in the short term is to strengthen students' endurance. (Contains 1 note.)
