This staff development guide provides a description of the kindergarten; overviews of kindergarten classroom learning centers; and transparencies for use in a teacher training workshop. The description of the kindergarten briefly focuses on the definition and philosophy of the kindergarten; the history of the kindergarten; principles of kindergarten education; and areas of the kindergarten curriculum. Centers overviewed include housekeeping, blocks, library, art, science, game/manipulatives, language arts, math, music, woodworking, cooking, and sand/water centers. Educational aims of each center are listed. Much of the guide consists of designs for transparencies. (RH)
