The history of school psychology in Indiana is presented in this booklet, which also provides insight into how the profession came to be and how it was developed and documents many of the professional and political issues that impacted program development. General factors influencing the development of school psychology, including army classification and public laws, are discussed. A factual history of psychology and school psychology professional organizations is presented, as is the history of training programs in Indiana, focusing on important individuals. Certification requirements are given in detail. The history of training programs at these Indiana colleges and universities is presented: Indiana State University, Indiana University, Purdue University, Butler University, Ball State University, and Saint Francis College. The history of school psychology services is traced, noting the impact of particular laws. Short biographies of the authors are included. (ABL)
