The Role of Research in Evaluating the Effectiveness of an Elementary Teacher's Performance: A National Study of Evaluation Criteria.
Isele, Frederick
Contemporary Education, v63 n2 p130-36 Win 1992
Researchers investigated the extent to which elementary student teacher evaluation forms used by teacher training institutions embodied evaluative criteria identified by teacher effectiveness research. Reviews of 368 programs' forms indicated significant variability and a need for clear conceptualization of elementary teacher training programs. Suggestions for improving evaluation forms are included. (SM)
