This article provides a detailed survey of the procedural rights afforded by the six regional accrediting agencies to colleges and universities facing the denial or withdrawal of accreditation. It asserts that additional procedural safeguards should be provided to institutions to ensure that accreditation decisions are not made in an arbitrary or capricious manner. (MDM)
