Predicting Aerobic versus Resistance Exercise Using the Theory of Planned Behavior.
Bryan, Angela D.; Rocheleau, Courtney A.
American Journal of Health Behavior, v26 n2 p83-94 Mar-Apr 2002
Tested the theory of planned behavior (TPB) in aerobic versus resistance training, investigating relationships between TPB variables, extroversion, and perceived health among college students who completed initial and follow-up measurements and provided reasons for exercise. TPB variables, extroversion, and perceived health collectively accounted for substantial variance in aerobic and resistance exercise. Reasons for exercise included physical, psychological, and social concerns. (SM)
