Designed to encourage vocational high school students to read by offering reading materials relevant to their vocational goals, this document contains thirty-seven articles related to air conditioning and refrigeration which have been selected from trade journals, magazines, and newspapers and adapted to the students' reading capabilities. A vocabulary study accompanies each article, and exercises to stimulate class discussion, improve comprehension, study, writing, word attack, and other reading skills have been provided. Since the content assumes a certain degree of technical knowledge, any unfamiliar terminology or technique within the article can be used as a basis for additional lessons. The articles cover a broad range of air conditioning and refrigeration topics, including articles on safety, new uses in the area, and other related subjects. (BM)
