Office managers face an increasing array of job responsibilities in today's business environment. To prepare new office administration employees and managers, educational institutions must maintain a progressive curriculum to meet position demands. Using a population of members of the Association of Professional Office Managers, this study was designed to assess the perceptions of office managers regarding the current issues facing office management. Results provide a list of various titles used to describe the "office manager" and support for an array of issues facing the office manager in several categories: personnel, technological, office layout/design, communication, managerial, records management, and other (e.g., certification, ethics, pre-employment testing).
