This directory brings together in summary form the functions of the various members of the United Nations Organization and the information systems and services they provide. It is intended to show the reader what exists and where to obtain further details. The contents are divided into four parts. The first part lists the organizations of the United Nations whose functions or programs involve the collection, dissemination, or analysis of information; organizations of an administrative nature are not included. The second part gives individual descriptions of the information systems belonging to the organizations listed in the preceding section. The third part presents addresses by country to facilitate contact between users and organizations, systems, and services. The last section is a subject index designed to assist users in identifying the systems and services which deal with information in a given field. (RAO)
