To showcase the students and their classroom experiences, last February the author and her colleagues hosted an "Academics Avenues" Learning Fair at their school. They invited parents and community members, and everyone was handed a "Roadmap to Learning" so that they could see what educational adventures were taking place in each classroom. The guests ventured into the following streets of learning: (1) Kindergarten Corner; (2) Penguin Place (first grade); (3) Dinosaur Drive (second grade); (4) Rainforest Road (third grade); (5) Valentine Box Boulevard (fourth grade); (6) Fourth Grade Food Fairway; (7) Wax Museum Boulevard (fifth grade); (8) Inventors Intersection (sixth grade); (9) Countries Cove (seventh grade); (10) Write Way (seventh and eighth grades); (11) Wellness Way (eighth grade); and (12) Sweet Treat Terrace (resource room). This program can be adapted to any school at all grade levels and has unlimited possibilities.
