In today's highly competitive job market, it takes more than just having the right training or degree to get hired. Many companies require previous work experience to even be considered for an interview. For young adults looking to enter the workforce for the first time, or older adults making a career change, this can be a frustrating situation. But there are ways that schools can help bridge this transition from training to job placement. At East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa, Arizona, a successful partnership has net the school a renovated facility that trains workers for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; thanks to another venture, EVIT will soon have a new health center on campus that provides students with hands-on training and employment opportunities.
