The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether psychological symptoms, negative social events, treatment-related information, and degree of insight into one's illness predicted current homicidality in a population of clients with psychosis (N = 170). Multiple regression analyses revealed that homicidality can be reliably predicted when clients manifest more severe symptoms of mania and less awareness of their need for treatment. Clinical and research implications are discussed as they relate to the counseling profession.
