This manual consists of 10 lesson plans for use by instructors teaching a private pilot ground school course. Addressed in the individual lesson plans are the following topics: aerodynamics and principles of flight, flight instruments and systems, operational publications, regulations, airplane operations, engine operations, radio communications, aviation weather, navigation, and cross country planning. Each lesson plan contains some or all of the following: unit title, presentation time, major presentation methods used in the lesson, a terminal performance objective, enabling objectives, student evaluation criteria, references, materials needed, required safety precautions, suggested homework assignments, preparation and revision dates, and a series of instructor notes that are cross-referenced to a lesson outline.
