This article presents basic information on the causes, physical and emotional characteristics, diagnosis and treatment, and educational implications of Batten's Disease, a degenerative neurological disorder which strikes children and adults, causes progressive loss of neurological function, and leads to eventual premature death. Discussion also covers eligibility for special education services and school interventions. (DB)
