Mothers' health is one of the most important and fundamental issues which the officials of health and care and supreme education should address as an important and effective part in society's individuals lives. The necessity of having a healthy society is having healthy mothers and this health would not be verified unless mother enjoys mental health. This research aims to address the study of relationship between different dimensions of a mother's personality and depression in the child. Aim: The aim of this research is to study the relationship between child's depression and different dimensions of mother's personality. Research questions: What is the relationship of mother's introversion on child's depression? What is the relationship of mother's neuroticism on child's depression? What is the relationship of mother's psychoticism on child's depression? Statistical universe: Includes all 5 and 6 year old children in the east of Mazandran province which consists of 2,150 children. Sample size based on Krijsi and Morgan formula is 300 children, and sampling method is systematic cluster. Samples were selected from 150 kindergartens located in the east of Mazandaran province from the following cities: Behshar, Neka, Sari, Ghaemshahr, Babol, Babolsar. Tools for data collection in this research are Eyzenck Personality Inventory (Eysenck & Eysenck, 1964), used for the assessing mother's personality, and drawing test Home-Tree-Person, used for the children. Eyzenck Personality Inventory assessed neurotic, extroversion, psychotic aspects in mother's personality. Depression in children, was assessed by the drawing test Home-Tree-Person. Research method: A descriptive profile of the post event in descriptive statistics, variance analysis, and hierarchical regression. Results: In the study of relationship between mother's character (neurotic, extroversion, psychotic) and child depression, there is a meaningful relationship (p less than 0.000). (Contains 3 tables.)
