Handbook on Hospital Television.
Prynne, T. A.
Designed for both hospital personnel interested in television and audiovisual personnel entering the medical field, this handbook is a verbal and pictorial survey of what is being done with TV within the medical profession. After an introduction which answers technical questions about medical TV posed during the American Hospital Association's Hospital Television Workshops, the handbook presents an introduction to health science TV for the audiovisual specialist and some examples of visual communications in health sciences education. Then, specific illustrations of hospital TV usage are offered in fields which include administration, anatomy, continuing education and family practice, dentistry, dietary education, endocrinology, microscopy, nursing, obstetrics, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, speech therapy, pharmacology, physical therapy, psychiatry, physiology, radiology, religion, surgery, and urology. Included as an appendix are articles of particular concern to those hospitals establishing TV facilities. (Author/SH)
