The Ministry of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development's overarching purpose is to position British Columbia to meet the competitive challenges of the twenty-first century through better aligning labour market supply and demand. In the six months since the Ministry issued its February 2009 service plan and the subsequent re-election of the government, some of the Ministry's responsibilities have been changed to align with the priorities as it moves forward. These changes are reflected in this update. This report has been developed within a context shaped by the overall priorities of the Government of British Columbia, by current global and domestic economic conditions and by other relevant external factors that affect the Ministry's strategic direction and day-to-day business.
