Physical Education Homework That Involves the Family
Williams, Skip M.; Hannon, James C.
Strategies: A Journal for Physical and Sport Educators, v26 n3 p3-8 2013
Within the objectives of the "Comprehensive School Physical Activity Programs" (CSPAP) and the "Let's Move in School Initiative" (LMIS), the PA leaders (PE teachers) strive to instill the knowledge, skills, and confidence that help their students be physically active for a lifetime. PA leaders strive to involve family and the community in school based PA. Therefore, the purpose of this article is twofold. The first purpose is to promote the use of homework in PE. Secondly, this article will provide PE teachers with example assignments aimed at involving PE students' family members. (Contains 1 table.)
