This curriculum guide consists of seven packets of material for use in teaching a course on body structure and function. Addressed in the individual sections are the following topics: the digestive system; the buccal cavity; the gastrointestinal system; the intestines; the liver, gall bladder, and pancreas; the digestion of food, and the absorption of nutrients. Each section contains an introduction; a list of objectives; a list of procedures for students to follow when completing the lesson; an informational assignment; one or more information sheets; one or more activity sheets; a student evaluation; and a detailed lesson plan that includes lesson objectives, a list of supplementary teaching and learning items needed, references, an introduction to the lesson, a detailed outline of information to be covered during the lesson, interaction items, classroom and laboratory activities, evaluation items, and answer keys to the student evaluation and activities.
