The report documents activities concerned with the planning and design of a National Information Center on Deafness at Gallaudet College. Development activites included: (1) establishment of an Information Center Advisory Committee; (2) a survey of agencies, institutions, organizations, and programs serving deaf people to assess their information needs; (3) visits to 15 operational information centers to document their information handling systems and organizational structure; (4) systems design for the quick exchange of information so that agencies and organizations can quickly respond to requests; (5) the beginning of acquisition and organization of information on frequently requested topics; and (6) preparation of a brochure announcing the establishment of the National Information Center on Deafness. Most of the document consists of appendixes in the form of documents pertaining to each of the project activities. (DB)
