Sibling Similarities in Educational Attainment: A Comparison of Like-Sex and Cross-Sex Sibling Pairs.
Benin, Mary Holland; Johnson, David R.
Sociology of Education, v57 n1 p11-21 Jan 1984
Tests the hypothesis that the amount of educational resemblance of siblings differs across the sex combinations of the pairs. Educational resemblance is greatest among older brother-younger brother pairs and smallest among older sister-younger sister pairs. The presence of inter-sibling effects best explains the resemblance among the brothers. (Author/CS)
