Utilization of Residence Hall Facilities, Fall 1985, with Trends from Fall 1976. Report No. 9-86.

Data on the utilization of residence hall facilities at campuses of the State University of New York are presented for fall 1985, with summary data for 1976-1985. In addition to trend data for each college and college type, graphic displays of percent utilization of residence hall facilities are provided. Tables for fall 1985 cover: (1) aggregated data that describes the original capacity of residence halls, permanent and temporary adjustments to this capacity, and net available space and actual utilization; (2) detailed data on the types of utilization of net available space, with resident student utilization as well as other types of utilization arrayed in categories; (3) resident student utilization arrayed by institution, type of accommodation, and rate paid by students; (4) data that describe revenue-producing utilization of residence halls for uses other than student occupancy; (5) displays by college, the distribution of resident assistant (RA) bed rental waivers, total student occupancy, and the ratio of resident students to RAs; and (6) total student occupancy, the resident student factor with which the number of authorized bed rental waivers is calculated. Five additional tables show trends from 1976 to 1985, and definitions are given. A brief narrative summary of the data is included. (SW)
