Tenure in Nursing Education: How Are We Doing?
Gropper, Roberta G.
Nursing Outlook, v46 n5 p202-05 Sep-Oct 1998
Deans and directors (n=115) of collegiate nursing schools were surveyed to assess the rates of success with which nurse educators achieve tenure and the characteristics of successful tenure candidates. When institutions hire faculty who are likely to achieve tenure and provide workloads that enable them to teach, conduct research and publish, they are most successful in becoming tenured. (JOW)
