The Final Report: 1975 Energy Resource Alternatives Competition.
Radtke, Mark L.; And Others
This publication describes the projects entered in the Energy Resource Alternatives competition in 1975. Teams of engineering students were given a year to develop non-conventional or alternative energy systems that produced useful energy outputs. Besides an overview of energy sources and uses and discussions of the competitions development, the contents of this document give diagrams and descriptions of the projects entered. Some of these projects could be adapted as experiments or student projects in secondary school science. Additional discussions describe: (1) final testing of projects; (2) scoring and awards; (3) educational impact; and (4) finances. Appendices provide additional information on the competition organization. (MR)
