Redefining the Role of the Company Magazine, Adding Measurement and Management.
Jeffers, Dennis W.; Bateman, David N.
The purpose of this paper is to provide magazine journalism educators with an update on current trends in the field of company publications. The first part of the paper outlines the development and growth of company publications, traces the evolution of the traditional goals and objectives for them, and illustrates how these goals and objectives have begun to change in the last few years. The second part offers a structural model that can be used both by professionals in practical situations to help solve communication problems and by educators to develop research strategies that will investigate and test many of the new concepts in the business communication field.
