The images of fat professors encountered in popular culture are few in number and negative in depiction. In this article, the author discusses on how will the professorial body affect the way in which students perceive the professor's teaching abilities. The author concludes that bias against fat professors, professors of color, and other professors who do not fit the expectations of the "normal professor body" will continue as long as society maintains these discriminatory views. Although it is difficult to accurately label the loss of one's tenure and promotion bid as fat discrimination and even harder to fight the claim in court, she is hopeful that the rising awareness of fat phobia and the grassroots campaigns by groups across the country will at least make open fat hatred a thing of the past.
