These student materials are designed to accompany the Career Opportunities Instructional Guide. Page numbers are consistent with the numbering in that guide. Seventeen units are provided. The materials in Unit 1 concern aspects of locating information about occupations; Unit 2 provides an introduction to the 15 occupational clusters. Each of the remaining units deals with one of the 15 clusters: agribusiness and natural resources; business and office; communications and media; construction; consumer and homemaking; environment; fine arts and humanities; health; hospitality and recreation; manufacturing; marine science; marketing and distribution; personal services; public services; and transportation. Each unit consists of three components: information sheets, activity sheets, and unit test. The information sheet on specific occupational clusters contains the following items: definition, list of job families and definitions, and examples of occupations with Dictionary of Occupational Titles number.
