Parks as Resources for Knowledge in Science (PARKS) National Program Evaluation Final Report.

This document evaluates the Parks as Resources for Knowledge in Science (PARKS) project which supports environmental education in 36 National Parks across the United States and provides curriculum-based learning opportunities that integrate National Science Education Standards for teachers and students. Contents include: (1) "Executive Summary--PARKS at a Glance"; (2) "Introduction--What Was the PARKS Project?" which includes background information and the PARKS National Evaluation; (3) "Program Descriptives--Who Was Involved in the PARKS Project?"; (4) "Program Descriptives--What PARKS Projects Look Like"; (5) "Inputs--What Went into the PARKS Project?" which includes collaboration information and the incorporation of the National Science Education Standards; (6) "Outcomes--How Were the People Involved Affected by the Project?" which discusses participant students, participating teachers and schools, teams, and National Park Service programming; and (7) "Conclusions and Recommendations--Final Thoughts" which covers collaboration, the National Science Education Standards, stewardship, and transferability.
