The Real-Time Case Method: A New Approach to an Old Tradition
Theroux, James; Kilbane, Clare
Journal of Education for Business, v79 n3 p163-167 Jan-Feb 2004
In this article, the authors report on a new type of case study, called real-time case method (RTCM), which was produced and taught at four business schools. This new method of developing cases was applied in a course on entrepreneurship. The authors describe it and evaluate its effectiveness. RTCM was conducted over the course of one university semester, and participants included 109 students from four universities in the United States and Canada. The authors' findings indicate that RTCM is highly effective in generating student engagement and satisfaction. (Contains 1 table.)
