Point-Counterpoint: Can Special Education and General Education Get Along?
Wasburn-Moses, Leah; Frager, Alan M.
Educational Forum, v73 n3 p215-228 2009
This essay grew out of a mutual frustration over differences between two fields within education. In the following discussion, special education professor, Leah Wasburn-Moses, argues that special and general education can resolve their differences. Her colleague, teacher education professor, Alan M. Frager, argues that the differences have become too great to bridge. They consider three topics: learning theories, views of justice, and assessment. Arguments are sequentially presented under each subheading.
