Do All the Good You Can: A Conversation with Mark Wilson
Riddile, Mel
Principal Leadership, v9 n5 p28-33 Jan 2009
This article presents an interview with Mark Wilson, the principal of Morgan County High School and the 2009 MetLife/NASSP National High School Principal of the Year. In the interview, Wilson shares his experiences in taking his school to the next level. When asked how he determined what would take his school to the next level, Wilson states that it is important for any school to do a really good needs assessment to determine its current situation so that one may know where he/she is, what the next level is, and where he/she can go from that. He also states that at Morgan County High School, teachers and staff came together as a faculty, and through their leadership team, they developed teacher leaders who played an integral part in determining what their vision was going to be and how they we were going to get to that vision.
