This article presents an interview with Kathleen M. Reilly, author of "Planet Earth: 25 Environmental Projects You Can Build Yourself." Environmental awareness needs to begin in childhood, and, through this book, Kathleen M. Reilly encourages children to learn about ecology and ecosystems to begin conservation early in their lives. Children ages 9 and up investigate the natural world while getting their hands dirty and actively connecting with the environment. Young readers explore key issues such as wind and solar power, pollution, endangered species, global warming, and recycling, with action they can take to help the planet along the way. This article also presents some interesting facts about planet Earth that were adapted from Reilly's book.
