Diesel Mechanics. Post Secondary Curriculum Guide.
Kahler, Edward P.; And Others
Intended to provide a model for organizing vocational instructional content, this curriculum guide consists of information pertinent to conducting a postsecondary level course in diesel mechanics. While the guide is primarily oriented towards the classroom, whether as a primary resource or as a supplement to other teaching materials, it may also assist administrators, counselors, and lay people involved in local school systems. Following an introductory discussion of state and local philosophy and objectives underlying vocational education, occupational information is provided concerning diesel mechanics. Presented next are a series of unit guides, each of which contains a task statement, a performance objective, instructional activities, suggested instructional materials, and evaluation criteria. The next two sections consist of a sample curriculum structure and course outline and various student records. Described next are group and individualized instruction facilities. The three appendixes contain a list of instructional resources and resource addresses, material for use in working with special needs students, and definitions. (MN)
