An Instructional System in Physical Science, Teacher's Guide and Keys.
Washington State Univ., Pullman.
This manual is a teacher's guide to a self-instructional program in basic physical science, designed for high school students who have not had a course in chemistry or physics. There are six units in the manual relating to these areas: problem solving and experimental procedures; universal standards, metric system and conversion; mechanics; the properties of matter, including the gas laws, density, elasticity, and other properties; and various aspects of temperature, heat transfer, and phase changes. The units are activity oriented and include problems requiring the use of simple algebra. The format for each unit in the teacher's guide consists of objectives of the unit, notes to the teacher, general information, a list of the apparatus and chemicals found in the kit for each unit, and a suggested test and key for the unit. This work was prepared under an ESEA Title III contract. [Not available due to marginal legibility of original document.] (PR)
