Reading: Exceptional Child Education Curriculum K-12.
Biddle, Candace Thornton; And Others
This K-12 reading curriculum for exceptional child education is arranged in a format comparable to the general education curriculum, and is sequenced in the order in which most children learn. The curriculum begins with a list of 123 objectives of the reading program. The objectives cover the areas of perceptual skills, word attack, structural analysis, comprehension, and braille reading. Major steps in the task analysis of each objective are listed, along with activities, materials, and resources for each step. Appendices, which make up about half of the document, contain handout sheets on such topics as spelling rules, parts of speech, vowel and consonant sounds, suffixes and prefixes, capitalization and punctuation rules, etc. A resource list of books, cards, duplicating masters, games, kits, tapes, and other materials is also appended.
