Poster Sessions. [Concurrent Poster Session at AHRD Annual Conference, 2000.]
This document contains presentations from four poster sessions at a conference on human resource development (HRD). "Human Resource and Organization Development Program Brochures: What Prospective Students Want" (Rose Opengart, Mary Wilson Callahan) reports on a study of promotional materials of graduate programs in the field of human resource and organization development that resulted in the following recommendations for brochure effectiveness: include abundant information on faculty and students; list specific courses available; indicate the availability of graduate assistantships; provide information on location of the university; and offer clear, concise, and easy-to-read material. "Web-Assisted Foreign Study Model" (James J. Kirk) depicts a foreign study instructional delivery model that combines marketing and delivery of international instruction with on-site visits in a foreign country. "Creating the Global Learning Organization (GLO)" (Gary N. McLean, Amy S. Tolbert, Ray C. Myers) is an action research model designed to assist United States-based corporations in creating an organizational culture that is globally inclusive in theory and practice at all levels. "Organizational Alignment Theory Updated: Poster Presentation" (Steven W. Semler) presents an overview of Semler's theory of organizational alignment, discussion of how and why it works, several theoretical propositions, a conceptual and diagnostic alignment model, and implications for practice. The papers contain reference sections. (MN)
