A Marketing Manual for Job Developers.
Serapio, Manuel G., Jr.
This manual is intended for job developers and people working in educational, vocational, and training organizations with responsibilities for job development and placement. It is designed to help them perform their responsibilities more effectively by making them more responsive to market needs and more efficient in executing their marketing-related functions. An introduction discusses the job developer's role as a marketer. The manual is organized according to the marketing functions of job development: market research, promotion and personal selling, applicant assessment, counseling, and interview preparation. The objectives of each function are outlined, and procedures and techniques to be followed to fulfill these objectives are discussed. The last section outlines some administrative functions of job development, including time management. Appendixes include a listing of suggested references for labor market information for Hawaii, a format for a labor market checklist of statistics vital to job development, and pointers on preparation of a survey questionnaire.
