This curriculum guide for a 1-semester or 1-year course in transportation provides activities that show and explain many of the occupations, devices, and systems that are related to transportation on land, water, air, and space. The guide contains competencies (task lists), student competency records, and management sheets. Management sheets, which serve as lesson outlines used for 1 or more days, include the following: an introduction, an enabling objective, a performance objective, an equipment and supplies list, a performance standard, suggested references for teachers and students, activities, and evaluation criteria. Some of the topics covered by the activities are: classification of transportation systems; and planning land, marine, air, and space transportation systems. The guide contains six appendixes: (1) information and record sheets; (2) support material on hot air balloons; (3) a tool and equipment list; (4) a supply list; (5) a 17-item bibliography; and (6) a facility layout.
