Ecklund, Kathryn
Christian Higher Education, v12 n3 p159-180 2013
This article, the second in a two-part series, provides an overview of the literature regarding first-generation college students (FGCS), which has been largely based on studies of students in public universities. The author shares outcomes from structured dialogues with FGCS attending Christian universities. The students described how their Christian universities could better meet the needs of FGCS. The author asserts that Christian universities can provide a unique, quality experience for FGCS and provides recommendations for Christian universities to consider in developing services that meet the needs of FGCS.
